Through targeted support for women-led cooperatives, the Support to Viet Nam for the implementation of the Paris Agreement II (VN-SIPA II) project demonstrates how digital transformation can reinforce gender-responsive climate adaptation while contributing to the long-term implementation of the Paris Agreement in Viet Nam. Through this effort, women entrepreneurs and cooperatives in Quang Tri province are enhancing their digital skills to establish and manage their own business websites, promoting agricultural products developed through Nature-based Solutions for Adaptation (NbSA).
On 30–31 July 2026, in partnership with the Center for Highland Natural Resource Governance Research (CEGORN) and GIZ, the Quang Tri Provincial Farmers’ Union organised two practical training sessions on website development and digital marketing for 16 participants. The selected participants, of which nearly 70% were women, come from women-led-cooperatives and small-enterprises in Quang Tri provinces producing different agricultural NbSA products such as bee honey, herbal essential oils and tea and other agricultural products, etc. A preliminary assessment revealed that many of these women-led-cooperatives have limited access to market information and lack experience in establishing or managing digital platforms, limiting their ability to promote products and connect with broader markets. The training therefore focused on equipping participants with practical skills to develop and manage their own websites as an effective tool for business promotion and digital transformation.

The training applied a hands-on learning approach, with participants building their own websites while learning about website structure, domain registration, content management, user administration, cybersecurity and product traceability. Artificial intelligence tools were also explored in designing website and developing attractive content for online promotion.
By the end of the training, every participating organisation had established its own website completed with organisational profiles, product catalogues and promotional content. Beyond acquiring technical knowledge, participants gained greater confidence in using digital technologies to expand market opportunities, increase product transparency and strengthen the visibility of climate-friendly agricultural products. The training also fostered networking and peer learning. Cooperatives showcased their specialty products, exchanged experiences and explored opportunities for future collaboration, reinforcing local partnerships for sustainable rural development.

The Quang Tri Provincial Farmers’ Union and CEGORN will continue supporting these cooperatives in maintaining and effectively using their digital platforms to promote NbSA-based products, expand market opportunities and strengthen value chain linkages. Lessons learned from this initiative will help inform opportunities to replicate these models in other communities, contributing to wider digital inclusion and more resilient rural livelihoods.
Supported by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) through the VN-SIPA II project, this initiative illustrates how targeted investments in digital capacity can strengthen women’s participation in climate action while improving the long-term sustainability and market competitiveness of nature-based livelihood models. By combining digital transformation with gender-responsive NbSA, the initiative demonstrates how climate action offers a practical and scalable approach to advance women’s economic empowerment and inclusive rural development.
