NDC Transport Initiative for Asia countries (NDC-TIA) – Factsheet

For lower transport emissions, behaviour change, and technology transformation are essential. The regional initiative NDC-TIA aims at a holistic approach to decarbonise the transport sector in China, India, Viet Nam, and other countries in Asia. The governments of Viet Nam, India and China recognise that implementing comprehensive solutions in transport can create sustainable development benefits such as reducing traffic congestion and air pollution. However, the implementation of comprehensive solutions in transport is challenging. NDC-TIA supports the development of a coherent strategy to emission reduction in transport with efficient policy approaches which are coordinated between various sector ministries, socio-economic organisations, and the private sector.
