Data privacy policy


Information on data processing in accordance with article 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (“Data privacy notice”)

IKI Viet Nam Photo Contest

Since the protection of personal data is very important to the GIZ, we hereby inform you about the processing of your personal data.

The controller for the data processing is the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.

For the purpose of carrying out an evaluation and technical support, the processor shall have access to the personal data referred to in section 2.

Collection of your data

We process the following personal data from you:

  • Full name of the contact person
  • Email address of the contact person
  • IKI Project name
  • Photographer name (optional)

Purpose of data processing and its legal basis

Purposes within the scope of your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 a GDPR)

Your personal data will be processed on the basis of your consent. You can withdraw this at any time. Fundamentally, the withdrawal of consent is only effective for the future. Processing that occurred before the withdrawal is not affected by it and remains lawful.

As long as you have given your consent, we process the above-mentioned personal data for the following purposes:

  • Registration for the IKI Viet Nam Photo Contest

Disclosure to third parties

The data will not be disclosed to third parties unless the GIZ is legally obliged or entitled to do so.

Data transfer to a third country

A data transfer to a third country will not occur.

Retention and erasure of your data

Your personal data will be erased after 30 days.

Technical and organizational measures to protect your data

GIZ uses appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the data against unintentional or intentional falsification, destruction, loss or access by unauthorized persons. These measures are updated in accordance with technical developments and are constantly adapted to possible risks.

Your rights

According to the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to:

  • Access to information about your data stored by us (Art. 15 GDPR),
  • Rectification of your data stored by us (Art. 16 GDPR),
  • Erasure of your data stored by us (Art. 17 GDPR),
  • Restriction of the processing of your data stored by us (Art. 18 GDPR),
  • Object to the storage of your data, provided that this data is processed based on Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1 lit. f) and e) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR),
  • receive the data concerning you in a commonly used and machine-readable format from the controller in order to have it transmitted to another controller if necessary (right to data portability, Art. 20 GDPR),
  • withdraw your consent, provided that the processing of the data has been carried out on the basis of consent (Art. 6 para. 1 a) GDPR). The lawfulness of the processing based on the consent given remains unaffected until the reception of the withdrawal.

According to Article 15 of the GDPR, you can also contact GIZ’s data protection officer at datenschutzbeauftragte@giz.de.

Furthermore, and in accordance with Art. 77 GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority for the GIZ is the Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (BfDI).

The following section is not part of the privacy notice, instead it portrays the declaration of consent.

At the beginning of your questionnaire, you will need to create a question of the type “Multi-choice question (multiple responses)”, that however will only have a single possible answer.

Right to withdraw

You have the right to withdraw this consent at any time without providing a reason with effect for the future. For this, it is sufficient to send an e-mail to iki.vietnam@giz.de. The lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent until the withdrawal is not affected by it.

Consequences of non-consent

You have the right to not agree with this declaration of consent – however, a lack of consent would hinder participation in the survey, since the following operations rely on the collection and processing of the categories of data specified in the data privacy notice.

Consent of the data subject

I agree that my personal data provided above will be processed by the GIZ for the mentioned processing purpose(s). Simultaneously, I assure that I have been informed about the data processing and my rights (see the above data privacy notice in accordance with Article 13 GDPR).

In this case, third parties are not processors. In the case of processing carried out on behalf of a controller, this will be named in the upper section.
